Afternoon ladies and gents...

I was just wondering what the general consensus was on 05 M3's vs 05 GT's? Who do you think would honestly win?
I know one guy with an 05 GT, beautiful car, with CAI, and a reflash done but he won't race me... I resepct his decision even though I get on his case all the time... I won't mention his name since he frequents this board. And because he's a really nice guy. I just wish he'd race me.

I'm in the Tampa Bay area and I'll be going to T&T Thursday Night @ Bradenton Motorsports Park. I would honestly like to find out. So if you're willing let's do a run or 2.

-Matt

An stock M3 would beat a stock 05 Mustang GT. Now of course a slightly modded 05 might beat a stock M3. Uber M3 is your ride stock?

333hp at 7900 RPMS

Thinking more on this if the 05 GT driver is better he could beat the M3 because in all reality it is a drivers race. With that said on the twisties it would chew my 05 GT up.

ooooh great, an American car hater.

Anyways, good driver against good driver? The M3 would likely be the win.

With a CAI and a tune I would give the win to the Mustang with the same above drivers.

If you read his post he likes the Mustang. He just wants the guy to race him. I know his sig can get American car owners fired up but he's right.

Stock for stock, I'd say the M3 would take it, but with a $20k price differential, I'd say that gap could be quickly blown away! That $20k would go a long way in building a monster Beemer eater. So the comparison is really apples to oranges.

Thank you... One thing I'm not is an American car hater... I just love cars, European, American, & Japanese. If it's fun to drive I enjoy it. I just prefer to have an all around car vs. good for really one thing.

As stated I just want to run one to see what will happen. I felt the same thing, that it's a drivers race. I just want to race one to find out. And to answer your question, now it's not. but the only thing done was an ECU flash.

I'm not really worried about that. And personally can't figure out why people keep adding the price of a car into the equation. I know how much my car cost and I know how much your cars cost. That’s not a factor here. I also watched a Lamborghini Diablo lose to a Honda Civic hatchback. 295K vs 25K (after all the work) Lambo’s are not ¼ mile cars. Neither is an M3… It’s just fun to see what you can do. IMHO

56K... A lot of money for a car but I've got to tell you this car is awesome.

I believe Evan Smith got a 12.8 out of a stock M3-

However most I see seem to be floating around in the mid to high 13 second territory-

well, regardless of price, it sounds like a 1/4 mile run would be a close race. Let me know if you get a race how it turns out.
