love that flick!
and, as I know nothing about that car and have nothing to contribute, I shall lurk back from whence I came

It looks like an old Camry where they realized they had some extra sheet metal so they used all of it to make a scoop.
Econobox on steroids that have passed their expiration date.

People pay 55K for this fugly thing? There has to be more to life than who is the fastest. I know it's all important to some folks so I guess that's cool. The Mustang is just a much more balanced product in terms of power, looks, price and this car has a soul.

You can get them for about $32k. Not sure where $55k came from--Canadian dollars??
It is definitely a driver's race. If your friend can't launch it, you will kill him. Seriously. If he bogs the launch, the STi will run mid to high 13's. With a perfect launch, it can run low 13's.
You should get the SCT tune and remove the HC trap. Then you will be assured of the kill, all while looking stock.

It stinks to say, but this could go either way. Normally, the peakiness of the Sub would/could be an issue however, with the AWD this issue goes out the window. If both drivers hook it right...could go either way. If a single driver blows the launch, the other car will win. They are comparable HP wise etc.

Are you in the US? there was never a U.S. market 03 STi. The STi first came to the U.S. as an 04 model with 300HP. The 03 WRX models had the round headlights, where the 04 & 05s look more triangular.
I think if you are racing a standard WRX (227HP)you should win. However if you are truly racing an STi (300hp), it could go either way, and I would recommend a best of three, winner take all, series.

Well it went down yesterday (saturday) sorry for the long time to reply, I've been busy. We decided to do a best out of 3 series since the closeness and one race wasn't fair enough to call. The first race I had the perfect launch, had the rpms to about 3100 and took off like a bat out of heck. I never really full throttled the stang because I was paying extra attention to babying it for a while. The first race I beat him. He was at the beginning point of my door. The second race was a closer one to say. I barely squeezed him out by about a wheel length, :: wipes sweat off forehead::. It was an extremely good and close race. I had 2 perfect launches, which with my driving style usually doesn't happen twice in a row. I'm all and now have braggin rights and more respect for the stang !!! Thanks for all of your input I appreciate it !!!

Read the reviews on both the WRX and the STI and you will see these are some GREAT CARS. WRX won Automobile o the year afew years back. 300 HP with AWD. Pull that dumb spoiler off the back and you have a 300 HP AWD SEDAN that handles extemely well. I owned a WRX that pulled 0-60 in 4.3 seconds, any GT owners out there wanna race that?
