Used Car Question

I know this might be a silly question, but I'm looking to buy the first Mustang that I test drove (not the exact car, obviously! ), a 2003 Mustang Mach 1. I LOOOOOVE that car and now that the used prices on them are somewhat reasonable, I'm looking to purchase one in the next 6 months.

The question that I have is, am I limited to what a dealer has on hand or will a dealer work with another dealer to get a car off their lot, like a PA dealer getting my car from a CA dealer, for example. Or would I have to buy from the CA dealer and get it shipped?

The reason I'm asking is because I actually wouldn't mind buying an extended warranty for my new girl, something I don't think I can do with a private seller (or can I?).

Thanks!

You can still buy extended warranties from the dealerships.

If I'm not mistaken, you can by an extended warranty just about anywhere you can finance the car.
I bought my warranty through my credit union.
Of course that was on a new car, but I'm pretty sure warranties for the newer used cars are available also.

Whatever you do, if you buy an extended warranty, PLEASE purchase one offered by the manufacturer of the vehicle! Do not purchase a 3rd party version. I have seen so many people who have a 3rd party warranty take their car into a shop, and the part that needs repair, isn't covered. Get a Ford ESP. They are the best you can get on a Ford product!
