I know this may not be the most appropriate place, but I figured I could get some info from the source: the dealers.

I am planning on installing JBA Shorty (50 state SMOG legal) headers on my 2005 Mustang GT.

#1. Would this have any bearing on my warranty? As long as nothing happens as far as problems, it shouldn't affect anything...Theres that Magnumson (check spelling ) Warranty Act. Any comments?

#2. Could I maybe purchase them and have the dealer install them? Would this be a better route than having a local shop install it?

ANY comments will be appreciated. Thank you!

The answer to number 1 is, No it SHOULD not affect your warranty. Most level headed dealers will not give you any grief for this. However, some less knowledgable dealers might not handle this so well. Keep the statement from the mfr. that states the smog legality.

The answer to number 2 is pretty much the same as above. Most dealers will install these. I would here, the most concern we have is the smog legality. Heavy fines can be levied against a dealer if we modify a car in such a way as to affect the emission control systems.

Hope this helps!
