$500 check for being a full time student from ford not recieved?

I dont know which forum to ask this on so I guess this one will work.

I recently purchased a brand new 06 mustang GT at Fremont, Ca Ford. They told me that if I proved my full time status at my college then I will recieve in the mail, a $500.00 check from ford. I purchased the car October 22nd and handed in the proof about 4 days later. Anyone know when I will get my check? Is it even true? My dealer showed me a list of rebates and one of them were a full time student rebate so I believed him.

Thanks guys,
Dan

I believe the college rebate is given at time of purchase, it's not a mail in rebate. At least that is the way it was when I bought mine in Aug. 05.

The person that told you that may have kept it , if it was instant, but Ford has done things like this.

All rebate's and incentives are part of the negoiated sale. If you didn't get it, the dealership did.

Well I am looking at the terms and rebates form right now and the box is checked under "full time student $500.00 rebate offer" in which it says that "proof of full time enrollment must be faxed to ford credit institution for approval. Discount will be sent to customer 2-3wks. after verification"

hmmmm?

oh well, i knew they had to screw me for something.

thanks guys,
dan

Call your dealer and ask them what is up with the rebate. If they can't explain it, go higher up and talk to the dealership manager. Keep going until you get an answer one way or another.

Your dealer must submit the claim in CONCEPTS Ask them to print a copy of the claim The claim form defaults to pay the Dealer They may have made a mistake and not changed it If so they should cut you a check Ford does audit rebates and if it does not show on the contract the fines are heavy NOT WORTH $500.00

I think what Ken is saying, is that FORD does audits on rebates at a dealer level. If they are found to be playing around with the rebates (keeping them) then the dealer is fined heavily from FORD. That would not be worth the 500 bux they would keep, when they get caught.

I think this means that the fines from Ford are heavy if they catch a dealer doing this and that it's not worth it to take the 500 as the fines will be way more.
