traction help

Any ideas on getting off the line better in a 2001 gt with an auto. Mods are: 4:10 gears, longtubes, offroad mid pipe, bassani catback, cold air, 78mm throttle intake, eibach pro springs, diablo tune, and nitto nt05 tires. By best 60ft was 2.035. Now its 2.12. I do have a broken trans mount.

Hey O1GT,

If your main concern is traction, rear lower control arms are the ticket. If you lower the vehicle you will also want control arm relocation brackets.

The control arms themselves will improve traction. The brackets will restore the geometry you lose restoring your weight transfer.

The LCA are mainly a straight line traction upgrade. You will have to make other changes such as shocks and struts, swaybars, etc for handling. Some of those parts, such as the springs, will compromise your straight line traction and require additional parts to restore traction, such as the relocation brackets I mentioned.

It will all need to be a thought out package based on your goals to achieve what you want to achieve. If you want to get more specific, you can PM me your needs and your budget and we can built a package that fits your needs from there.

Here is a link for our control arms- http://www.steeda.com/store/ford-mus...trol-arms.html

No front sway for drags, ftw! Running a staggered tire and going as big as your wheel well can handle in the back helps. Also get an adj suspension and either run the rears soft and fronts hard or vice versa..? I have mine getting dialed in for track use so drag is a little alien to me now days. Forced induction with a manual tranny helps too.
