we have two motors, one that has diff rods etc and one thats box stock. The motor we are running this weekend is the box stocker.
Disclaimer: I know I have been a big advocate of NOT revving these motors over 7,200 and I still am. When your racing, the lifespan of the motor is NOT the most important factor, winning the race is, so if you need to take a risk and maybe increase the risk of a problem later, then it might be worth it. On a street car I still stand firm that if you are having your car tuned do NOT raise the limiter above 7,200.
Thank you for the Info. When you have push the motor to the upper part of 7000 rpm range dose the motor feel like it lays down a bit with the stock long runner intake that comes on the 5.0L . The reason iam asking is i was planding on setting my red line to 7500 rpm . Now that they came out with that new intake for the boss 302 i was thinking of change over to it if Ford will sell it at some point in time. But the more i think about the boss 302 intake i think the power band of that intake is going to be more for the 8000-9000 rpm range and it will not mater much when only spinning the motor to only 7500 rpm.

its fine on power up there, the dyno graph falls off but it doesnt fall on its face.
The GT valvetrain is why you cant rev that high not the intake.

Moving this thread to 'Mustang Motorsports,' but will leave a link for a few days. And I'll keep the two threads seperate with the identical picutres for a few days, but they may merge in the future.
Great car/photos!
