It was a blast, put on by NASA Rocky Mountain region:

Next event is on Halloween, it usually rains or snows in Colorado on Halloween (made costumes as a kid rather superfluous given the winter coats), but hopefully will make it out then, too.

My instructor gave me a ride in his '03 Z06 w/ DOT race rubber, nearly made me sick! Got a long way to go with the Stang.

The track is brand new and not the best for spectators, so my wife couldn't get too many good photos. I'll have to get one of those GoPro Motorsports camera for in-car shots sometime.

looks like a lot of fun! I'm down in Highlands Ranch/Littleton and want to get in to this type of stuff soonish, just way too busy with work and college for now.

I know the feeling! Wanted to do autocross back when I had a '95 Neon, but college, work, everything got in the way. The event @ HPR was $160 ($40 for NASA membership), for that you get an experienced instructor in your car for three 30 minute sessions. Great bang for the buck, and better than you'd ever get through a driving school. Guys with stock cars were out there on their regular street tires, one lady was in a 04 Audi S4 and was s-l-o-w, so everyone passed her. Very safe there, too, and there's even a medical insurance thing you get for signing up.

They'll probably have some events @ PPIR on the infield roadcourse again next year, not too far from you.
