2014 3.7L V6 Driveshaft

I have a question for anyone who may know. I currently have the stock driveshaft in an automatic V6 for the 2014 model year. I've seen many people with 2011s on YouTube busting their driveshafts by going 130mph or higher. I currently have my limiter set to 125mph which allows me to go around 128/129mph. Does anyone know on my 2014 if there is a possibility my driveshaft would break if I tried to take it to say.. 150mph or thereabouts? Mine is 3 years after the people who seem to have the issue, but I'm not willing to risk it without checking with someone who knows for sure first. Thanks.

Likely the failure is due to a resonance mode at those high speeds and the vibe failure results. I doubt anyone on the forum could tell you one way or another as to probability of failure since we don't have the engineering info that Ford would have. Personally, I would be concerned based on what I've seen.

I would not risk it. Spending a $1k on a one piece shaft with a safety loop is a lot cheaper than having a shaft fracture and wreck your car completely.

Thanks 5.M0NSTER that's what I've been planning to do, just haven't had the extra funds yet. Yes, I don't want to mess up my car or myself in the process.

Worth noting, I've never hit 150 in my car and only go past 130 at certain tracks... and I'm pretty modified for that type of driving. Is 130+ a real probability?

I've hot 130 only a handful of times too. Most of the time just over 120. But the thing about I75 or I80 is that it's nice and straight

I never thought about the driveshaft letting loose. Maybe I should move a one piece shaft and safety loop up on my list of future mods.

With GTs you don't have to worry unless you go much past the 155 mark.

The V6 cars were limited to 112 I think, and when people removed the limiter there were a few cases of the shaft snapping ~130mph.

Thanks for the clarification. I am still planning on a 1 piece drive shaft at some point, but I have some other things that I would like to do first.
