2011 3.7L V6 Auto w/3.31s

This weekend I took my wife's new 2011 Mustang MCA 3.7L V6 Automatic w/3.31 rear axle to the local dragstrip. I was only able to get in two passes the entire night, and the best one was a 13.868 @ 102, which IMO is very respectable. As you can see from the timeslip below, there's room for improvement. I'm sure I could've done 1 or 2 tenths better with some practice launching.

timeslip..

This is awesome! No doubt, with a good launch you're going to be 13.6-13.7! Good work...

That is great. Those cars are so impressive. Those times are in the range of what 05-10 stock GTs ran.

Thanks guys! I wish that I had more times to practice the launch. During the first pass I tached it to maybe 1200 RPMs while holding it back with the brakes. However, when I punched it on the 3rd yellow it totally broke loose and spun. The second time I just launched it from an idle. With more practice I should be able to get that 60' down to at least a 2.0 on the street tires.

I'm a firm believer in drag radials for the track. Why let traction be a variable in your fun? You could hold decent revs against the converter and lower your short times and 1/4 mile by two tenths with drag radials.
