'05 Mustang takes 3rd and 4th in Grand Am Cup
The grand am cup, which I believe is the only racing series the '05 mustang races in, had an untelevised race yesterday: Miller Grand Am Cup 200, in Santo Domingo. We had the lead three times at my count, but finished the race in third and fourth position. There was a yellow caution around pit-time that messed up a few teams, and there was also a power outage to the score boards that brought out a pace car. You can check out the final standings here:

If you want to see some pictures and read a couple of pretty good articles about the race check out this link:

It's the first season for us obviously (and by us I mean '05 stang fans), and I think we did pretty well considering it was our second race total, and first race on a real twisty track. I think this is definately a series we can own.

What channel did you see it on? I thought it was untelevised? Well, at least the website didn't list a channel...
EDIT: I think you are talking about the Daytona race on Feb 4th. The hood did fly off of the cammer car in that race. The news story about that is here:

If find it kind of ironic b/c I watched the first race and the commentators were talking a lot about how the stang might have a slight disadvantage in handling over the BMW's in the next race on a tighter course. Nevertheless, I think the 05's have really done a good job thus far by coming out strong in proving they could hang with Porsche's and BMW's. It definitely gives them something to worry about.

Well I'll be...
Due to the power outage in the middle of the race, there was some official tallying to be done afterward and the multimatic mustang now is placed 2nd! You can read the article about the race here:

Revised standings can be seen here:

Talk about good news! The multimatic team now is in the lead in driver points for the series.
