polish will bring back the shine in old or oxidized paint, probably not a great idea to use it on new paint because it is a very minor abrasive. Wax will help seal and protect paint and also keeps new paint shiny without abrasives.
Isn't a clay bar a "very minor abrasive?"

yes in but it will only remove above the surface blemishes....unless there arent any and you constantly do it then it will start to take its toll on your clear coat.

Zaino is the best on the plant
What type of plant are you putting it on? Does it help it grow?

J/K... I've switched from Meguires to Zaino and there's no going back for me.

the real question ten to 20 years from now what will look better?
if you plan on keeping your car that long and want to keep the original paint in as good of shape as possible, then the solution is to not always be touching your car with any of these cleaning products, they are designed to make it shiny and clean for now, wax is to protect the paint job, so putting a good several coats of wax on your car and then keeping it clean without wet washing it and using polishes and cleaners all the time that will break down that wax and possibly scratch or swirl your paint is the best to prolong the life of your paint and if properly maintained it will still look great every day. With propper maintenance you can accomplish this and still turn heads. I do this with mine and I get nothing but compliments on how perfect the car always looks by both people that see it every day, strangers and people at shows I attend.

I've used Meguires since I was about 18... my current Mustang a '91 has 180k miles and the paint still looks great. It's a 14-year-old car so it doesn't look as good as a brand new paint job, but for it's age it still looks very very good.

But I have washed, waxed it regularly since I've owned it. I suppose if I had used a different product like Zaino it may look better now, but that would be hard to determine... unless you had the cash and wanted to do an experiment.

That's it, we need someone to buy two new mustangs of the same color and use Zaino and some other product for about 15 years... then 15 years from now we can see the results

Is there any reason not to use Nu Finish Car Polish instead of wax? What the differeance beteen wax and polish? We have used Nu Finish Car Polish on the van and it seems nice. I did a search and only found 2 people like using Nu Finish, anyone else out there?

I have used NuFinish on my daily driver "beater" and it does shine and lasts a long time but for my classics and my GT only the best NXT. Heres some pics to show NXT.

ABO5GT,

It's very helpful that you have used both and it was great to see the shine in performance white (great poster).

GTJeff,

GTJeff-

I bet your car looks sweet, but I have got to believe you have reached the point of diminishing returns?

Noticing any slight decline over coats after a lot of them?
