A little on the pricey side - but the products are great.
Microfiber is a fiber with less than 1 denier per filament. (Denier is a measure of linear density and often used to describe of the size of a fiber or filament. Nine thousand meters of a one-denier fiber weighs one gram.) Fibers are combined to form yarns. Yarns are knitted or woven in a variety of constructions. While many microfibers are made of polyester, they can also be composed of polyamide (nylon) or other polymers.

All micro fibers are not equal, bought a large bag of yellow colored towels at Sam's Wholsale, used 1 and pitched the rest of them.
The ones from Auto Geek , Gratriots, and high end wax companys are the best.
And don't forget to tear off the tags before going near the car.

"Microfiber is what? Microfiber is a man-made material that combines two fibers, polyester and polyamide(a nylon by-product).The polyester gives the material strength and durability, the polyamide allows the fabric to be tremendously absorbent and quick drying."
Take a look at the following chart. There are several different types of microfiber towels on the market. They are not all used for the same purpose. You have to get the proper ones based on what you will be using them for.

As for the ones you have being made in China, as much as you don't want them to be, that is normal. Microfiber is basically made in China and Korea due to how the fibers are split.

I wouldn't be surprised if the manufacturing process for most microfiber towels violates some EPA/OSHA regulation, or requires expensive equipment to prevent health issues for workers, much like the manufacturing process for carbon-fiber or the process for making 5.7x28 ammunition cases.
Korean microfiber is said to be the best by most high end car care companys.Something to do about the size and softness.I have used Griots Garage microfiber for years with no scatches on my cars. They just came out with a thick blue cloth for quick detailing. They are awsome.Just make sure you wash microfiber alone as it attracts lint from other fabrics. Also some recommend high heat to dry but that may melt the fibers or make them brittle.Low heat or air dry has worked best for me.
