Haven't even waxed my '05 yet, and I'm confused as to what to use.

In the past, my '87 GT needed cleaner wax because it was constantly oxidizing.

My '95 GT never had oxidation problems, so I switched between Meguiars #26 Yellow Tech Wax and Meguiars cleaner wax. The #26 wax seemed to last longer than the cleaner wax.

Now I'm considering Meguiars NXT Tech wax or some similar synthetic product.

What's your preference, and why?

My dad has used Nu-finish for years and so have I. Now granted it doesn't last a whole year like it says but it last me a good four months. Great stuff!

Sorry, but NuFinish is horrible no matter which way you slice it. Sure it provides a little protection, but it doesn't look as good as is possible.

Do yourself a favor and check out autopia.org and read.

This is what I use and how I keep my car looking nice.

-NXT Wash
-Clay
-NXT Wash
-Klasse All-in-One Cleaner Wax
-Klasse Sealant Glaze (2 coats)
-These above steps provide 6 months of solid protection if applied properly.
-Then I have a Carnuba Wax (Meguiars #16) to top it off and it adds depth and warmth to the Torch Red. To make your car look the best, it is all in the preparation. You should have atleast 2 steps such as Polish to Carnuba or cleaner to sealant or carnuba.

I use all the NXT products and I'm very picky!!! The wax is good stuff. Look at pictures of my car for proof.

I'm willing to try a new product. Ive just never had any issues with nufinish at all. I used it on my 87 and it was fine and I just waxed my 99 the other day and it looked gorgeous. I use eagle one car wash also it seems to do a great job. I'm gonna try the new mr. clean autodry. I usually wax my car 4 times a year at least also so I'm always putting a new coat on.

Okay. I just checked with a local detailing shop yesterday (Landis Corvettes. I've dealt with them before) and they said that NuFinish is an excellent wax. Just my two cents. To each their own!

Meguiar's Cleaner Wax, then Meguiar's Gold Class. My vehicle's painter uses Meguiar's Show Car Glaze (7). I've also used Zaino Z2/5 (a polymer), and wasn't that impressed.

I use specifically Zymol creme wax, very mild natural cleaner in this formula. discovered it when I had my 1994 black Mustang GT. It made it look like a jewel!!

After years of using Meguiar's I recently started using Zaino products. Like night and day.
The Zaino gives a much deeper and "wet" appearence. Also a lot easier to use and less restrictive to when and where you can apply the stuff.
Using the Z-6 Gloss Enhancer lets you know when/if you need to retreat with Z-2 or Z-5.
