Thumbs up

I was not careful and got wax on some of the weatherstripping on the car. Particularly the strip underneath the side windows. My question is, what is the best way to remove it?

One of those prep wipes might get it off for you. They are the things used to clean the body of debris and oils before you paint it. You should be able to find one at your local parts store.

I actually read on this forum or another, don't remember which that peanut butter will remove the wax from weatherstripping!

Well if it works I guess... although I am a little skeptical about rubbing peanut butter on my car... any concrete evidence that it will do the trick?

I've used B to B also. It works very well. It may need a couple applications to fully get the weather stripping back to all black

Well, what do yall use to protect the weather stripping. The paint on my old car looks great b/c I waxed every 6 months. But the weather stripping looked like crap. I put some stuff on it you get from the store to help protect it but I think I might had been too late at that point.

thx

I have also used Back to Black, great stuff. Regarding peanut butter to remove gum-are you serious, does it work? I have a post under cleaning tips about getting gum off of a floor mat. Thanks in advance.

I think Back-to-Black also is supposed to protect the surfaces as well. So even if you don't need to get it BACK to black and just need to KEEP it black. I assume it will do the trick?

If not, I've also been messing around with those new Turtle wax products in the dark green containers. Satisifed so far. I think they have a rubber/vinyl/etc protectant as well
