just be sure not to touch the paint with it unless ur planning on rewaxing it of course =p

 

Just went out and tried it. Looks like it all came off. Won't know for sure until I wash the car just to make sure all the WD-40 is completely off.
Either way, it looks better.

 

told u =p and makes plastic shiny .. but dont worry after that drieds it will turn back to normal pre wax

dont need to wash the WD40 .. wont damage it and itl dry naturally

 

I used a mister clean magic eraser, on the black trim on my fox....it worked really well, but it kinda got used up once i got to the Rubber quarter window trim, cuz, as you all know that stuff practically turns to sandpaper. I also used the magic eraser to get off tree sap, which also worked very well, and did not appear to strip off anything (but my car is only polished, not waxed)

 

I wasn't worried about damage. I was thinking the wax might show back up once the WD-40 wears off. I'll give it a few days and then take a look again.

 

no the wax is off it aint coming back hehe works GREAT


i just mean if you get any WD40 on the paind of the car it will instantly strip off the wax ..like dishwashing soap so the paint will be exposed =p

If you wnt to protect the plastic,use" 303". it makes it shiny too. also vert tops

 

I hadn't considered the cloth top for 303. Would you use that on a cloth top as well, or just vinyl?

 

just vinyl.There are products for cloth tops.I think RAGG TOPP sells one.

 

OK. It's official. The WD-40 is only temporary.

Isn't that cool! I tried several products to remove wax/sealant from the trim and it kept coming back. I was skeptical about the eraser trick, but I figured what the heck, only a few cents. And it worked! I erased the entire trim in the mall parking lot while people walked past trying to figure out what I was up to.

 

Imagine if you would've been trying it with peanut butter.

 

I'll try that next time I go out for groceries!
