So I'm looking into getting a wax that can give my car the best look possible. Right now im using a 3m paste. Can't say that im not impressed or impressed with it, to me its a wax.
Looking at the prices of some of these wax's. Is it really worth the price for a 60-120$ wax? Mind you i have a black car...

No.
Waxes get very very high in price, but how good they are is subtle at best. A lot of how good they are is likely just the "butt-dyno" in the same way your car drives smoother after a cleaning or oil change. A lot of high-end waxes are very nice, but they're not so much different that you're likely to see a big difference compared to waxes in the $30-80 range. One of the biggest difference to getting a decent wax versus the stuff you can buy over the counter is in how the product is formulated and what it's meant to do. Over the counter products often have cleaning agents (as most people don't have a clayed car) or abrasives (because most people don't have a polished car) which help give the general public a truly better result at the expense of staining trim and being harder to use. Stuff I use, for example, is only meant to look good, apply easily, and smell pleasing.
The biggest change you can make is in polishing. That's the process of making your finish truly look better by mechanically releveling your clear-coat.
Wax is like a woman's make-up while polishing is like actually making a woman beautiful.

I use Pinnacle Souveran on my S2000. It's New Formula Red (red base-coat with a red-tinted clear-coat) and I think that was looks outstanding on red. Additionally, while the durability isn't very good, it's so easy to use I don't mind having to use it more often.
I also tend to use Dodo Juice Supernatural a lot when people want a carnauba baed wax used. I like it enough that I did a long in-depth write-up on the product: http://www.detailedimage.com/Ask-a-P...-carnauba-wax/

Marc couldnt have said it better. I tend to use either Collinite 915 or pinnacle souveran. Sometimes layer on top of my sealant during winter and summer minths to added protection and durability.
Collinite is a very tough wax, also difficult to use by hand as it is a very hard wax in the tin rather than a soft creamy texture. All you need with collinite is a thin coat and it does an amazing job. Water sheets off, dirt doesnt stick, and the ever persistent birds must be getting frustrated.
Pinnacle souveran is a creamy carnuba wax that works wonders on darker colors. Great gloss, incredible shine, good durability, and very easy to use. Again, only need a thin coat or two and similar results.
The collinite is about 20-25 bucks and the pinnacle isnt too far from that price either. But IMO these are two of the best waxes in the market.
If your lookin at really kicking up the shine and look of your car check out the orbital polishers on autogeek.net. These can really take your finish to the next level. They also have a forum as well in case there are any further questions

The absolute best wax I have ever used has been p100s you can get it on ebay for about $33, its a white/clear carnuba wax, goes on easy and doesnt stain black trim and comes off even easier with no dusty residue, its worth a try and once you try it you will love it!

i think i was distracted by your avatar.
