Washing in the Rain

Just picked up my Shelby two days ago and need to get some wax on it. Seems the rain has set in here, so I may be washing in the rain. Anyone see any issues with washing in the rain if I then pull it in the garage and dry it off good? Will the rain have contaminants in it that would be left behind after drying?

I have done it, with success, but I would caution u to use an electric leaf blower to dry the car off, not towels. Use a waffle weave towel to get what you can't get off with the blower. Then wipe down with a quick detail spray product.
At least that is how I handle it.

The rain water will have less contaminates in it than most household water sources unless you have a water softener system.

Washing in the rain is great at least at my house. The public water is crap. Rain is a lot softer and better to keep water spots off. I use a wash and wax combo soap on my daily drivers and just leave them out. Seems to do a pretty good job not even drying.

I prefer washing in the rain. Dry it in the garage with leaf blower first, then damp micro fiber towel. Works for me.

I've washed cars in the rain for my detailing venture.... my neighbors have gotten used to it, but people driving by look and I can tell they think I am a little crazy.

Yep.........I've often washed mine in the rain..........it happens a lot here in England

And, yes, my neighbours think I'm mad!

Just reverse it back into the garage to dry off with m/fibre towels..................I refuse to put my pony away dirty
