Never driven in the rain? This car was made to be driven, sun, rain, sleet or snow.
I agree. These are machines that were made for hitting the highway, come what may. Nothing I hate more than going to a car show and seeing trailer queens pampered like an objet d'art! Kind of a killjoy.

Killer finish, buddy! Good work(out).

I've been using Zaino for about 7 years. I've yet to find anything better. Easy to put on....easy to take off.....best shine I've ever seen and lasts longer than anything I've ever used.
What he said! Bet that your neighbors will become converts as well after seeing your car. That's the main way Zaino expands, people who see it are impressed.

Better than Wizards?
never heard of WIZARDS but took a look at their WEB site. They really don't say what they're products are made of, but from looking at the way they describe their use, I'd say they have some sort of light "grit" in them to polish down swirl marks.

Key is to not use any sort of compound that will "wear down" swirls. It's best to avoid the things that cause swirls to begin with. Swirls are caused by the rotating brushes in automated car washes (even those so-called "soft brush/cloth" places). Also, either use quality 100% cotton towels or quality microfiber towels for washing/drying and waxing. I like micorfiber for drying, but also like the synthetic chamois products like "the absorber".

Most other types of towels have ployester threads running through them, which will cause minute scratches in your finish.

Carnuba based waxes are fine. They just don't last very long. Plus, any carnuba wax will tend to "melt" (like any form or real wax) on your finish when they get hot. Most of the carnuba blends also leave the dreaded "white residue" in the crevices of your car. Zaino, on the other hand, does not.

Try Diamon Luster. I've been using it my vehicles ever since the day back in '98 when my brand new GT was spray painted all over the hood, fender, door and windsheild, and then had 2 cans of latex paint poored ofer the cowel and hood. I can't even begin to describe how livid I was.... but I walked into several paint shops to see what might clean it off and most places suggested mineral spirits. I was affraid that still might be too harsh, so I kept asking around. One place recommended this stuff, and had a bottle on hand. It's a liquid wax, and with very little effort, it rubbed right off. Spray paint and latex... and the finish is slicker than grease owl poo. I'll swear by the stuff.... but granted, I haven't ever used Zaino, so I can't compair, but it's certainly a lot cheaper. $30 for a "10 year supply" I've had my 1 qt bottle for 7 years and I'm 2/3 the way through it.

Zaino products are great, no residue when you wipe off polish. I let my neighbor try it and he has now ordered his own kit. The water just sheets away when you wash your car making it very easy to dry car.

Why so many coats of wax? Shouldnt the good wax only require one coat ?

Just asking!! Looks great!

PonyGirl,

Zainos not really a wax. The more coats you put on the smoother and flatter the surface gets as it is able to fill in the valleys in the paint more and more. To a point of course! I'm not sure where the point of no return is, but I bet my PERSONAL point will be around coat 4, maybe 5... Future applications will not require so many layers as you will only be touching up the finish instead of "building" it.

Jeff,

You can always bring up the ole 'If I wasn't polishing my car I would be drinking at the bar...' excuse!
