Tire coating idiot!
Everytime I try a new product it slowly turns the tire and orange color or leaves marks on it that are hard to get off.
Silicone or no silicone?
I have no idea what to get....

As for silicone or not silicone, I don't know, I use Meguiar's rubber and vinyl on my tires, leaves a nice satin look.

I use one of the blue silicone based products. Gotta get it from one of the professional detail suppliers. The kind I have is called magic blue tire dressing. Also to clean the tires, that Wesley's Bleach White does a great job of getting them back to black. Have to spray it on damp tires and scrub a little so it doesn't streak.
If you want an extremely effective and very long lasting way to clean and dress your tires, you may want to check out the TUF Shine kit: http://www.detailedimage.com/TUF-SHI...ance-Kit-P545/
You can use it like normal to get a a more satin finish, or you can apply the clear-coat multiple times to make it more and more shiny. A few of my clients who are more discerning about their tires have purchased this kit and LOVE it.

I was going to say the same thing. I think you'll love it: it lasts for weeks and weeks on end. It's nice to wash your car multiple times and not have to worry about how your tires look.

when you get ready to clean your tires, use a product called Wesley's Bleche White. It's strong stuff and it'll get your tires really clean with a good scrubbing, then coat it, and you should be good.
Wesley's is so good, that you can stain a driveway with all the stuff it gets off tires, ask me how I know, haha.

Yeah, the key to making the tires look really good with the tire shine/gel is to really clean the tires first and make sure they are dry before applying anything to them.
I like Zaino's Z16 and it DOES NOT SLING off.

While tire shine products make the tire look great you still have to clean the tire well from time to time. what it sounds like you are experiencing is exactly that, a dirty tire.
Look up Griots Garage on the web. they have video and even e-mail account for questions. They are a large detail product shop on the west coast and they also sell products on line and may have dealers in your area. I show my car and use their products and have learned a thing or two about detailing.
Good luck

I use Griot's Vinyl and Rubber Dressing on my tires. It gives them a rich dark look without making them shiny. I can't stand the look of shiny tires - doesn't look natural. I also use Griot's Speed Shine after washing my car and between polishing. It leaves the finish slick and makes the color pop
