*** Update 6/24/23

i was a little late this year to do my annual convertible top care due to a May vacation but I finally got around to it today. I remembered to take some photos which should help a bit instead of just 'words'.Yes, it's a pain in the butt to do this, even once per year, but the rewards are obvious with clean, well oiled joints, rubber seals, and of course the RAGGTOPP to protect the cloth top.
I'll write a little bit under each photo.

The rubber along the header. I use Armorall on a sponge and repeatedly apply. The result is soft pliable rubber that seals well. If it feels 'sticky' afterwards, use a detailer to remove the stickiness. It will not remove the benefits of the Armorall.

With the top slightly lowered, use the same method on this rear plastic piece to keep it clean. Get underneath it.

A wet towel will will grab any specs of dirt or debris.

Don't forget the rubber seals all around the windows.

Lower the top to about this point so you can see the convertible joints that need to be oiled. It won't hurt the top or mechanism for the short time period needed to oil.

Today I used a regular paper towel to place underneath the joint to catch any extra oil. I used regular old 3 in 1 oil that has a long spout for easy application of a few drops.

Don't forget these two. Same thing.

After oiling, put the top back up leaving about 1/2 inch to place some towels as shown. This protects the glass from the overspray from the RAGGTOPP. It's a bear to remove from glass. Close the top over the towels before spraying. No need to latch.

Once RAGGTOPP is applied, remove towels, secure top, and let dry for 24 hours. Looking good!

Awesome pictures and great info addition to this thread. This update adds to the value of the important info already in this thread. Great info here. Almost makes me want to get a convertible...

But no... for now I will stick with my Glass-top Mustang and my panoramic sunroof Jeep GCs.

It's that time again....Time flies. Just finished this year's Raggtopp treatment this morning.. See post #22 above for photos.
The Trans Am is next. I'm kind of glad I don't have 3 'verts anymore. Two is plenty.
