Tanning lotion havocs on paint
I'm freaked out. On thursday i went out n put spray lotion on cuz it was so sunny. It was windy n it ended up spraying on one of the quarter panels. I washed it 2x by hand and once by car wash already with no success. I would like suggestions on how to get it off if u experienced this?? I may try a warm rag later tonight since it will be 90 here... gahhh.
Thanks

Even the car wash dude was teasing me a bit but thats what i get.
Ok i will try out the ideas. Looks like its still humid out so i may try the dish soap first. If thet wont work kmart had a clay bar i do that next then a full detail which i wanna get done anyhow. So humid here we lost power. Wasnt here tho.

You are in Jersey and use tanning spray
Ok just had to lol
Anyway I would try the dawn idea or maybe some rubbing compound but the dawn should do the trick

Pardon my "all caps shouting"...
DO NOT USE RUBBING COMPOUND BY HAND UNLESS YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE!
If you use too much pressure, you can significanly reduce or even go through the clearcoat, which will require repainting.
Go with the least aggressive method first. I would suggest wiping down the paint with IPA on a microfiber (isopropyl rubbing alcohol, not india pale ale).
If that doesn't work, try a dawn wash, followed by polishing and then rewaxing, as IPA and dawn will strip the paintwork of its wax or sealant

Ive used rubbing compound hundreds of times, but i purchase the lightest abrasive,
Which compound did you buy? And on edges are usually areas to watch out for cutting through.
Use a Porter Cable and Maguires Swirl removal on area.
Hopefully as mentioned above you didnt cut through.

Well put on that ice polish n its looks like it took care of it but idk if it still got to the paint. I never new this black paint would be this much trouble to keep in tip top shape. I heard of the cleaning trouble but geez.
