I've been using Mequires liquid leather conditioner/cleaner on both front and back seats and I assume you can't damage any vinyl surfaces by using that product. Am I right?

But if you picked up their plastic/vinyl/rubber product, you could use that on there too!
Depends on how much you have of either one

Back to the initial question posed. I use Zaino leather cleaner and conditioner on both the vinyl and leather surfaces as well as the door inserts and it works great. Like the leather smell also.
I like several other people who have ICAP thought the seating surfaces on both the front and back seats were leather.
I'm going to need to do the wrinkle test myself when I get home.

Using 100% vinyl on the back seat makes sense, since they probably get used mostly by kids (or not at all), but if I payed $700 and ended up with leather on just the front seat seating sufaces, I'd feel like I'd been ripped off. It would be better if they charged $400 and told us up front that the back seat was vinyl.
Better yet, make 100% vinyl front and rear a no cost (or low cost) option.

Most middle of the road vehicles only have leather seating surfaces. I really don't mind it as long as the vinyl was done nice and it comes close to matching. I'm pretty sure the backseat sirface of the Mustang is also leather. Someone posted that it was entirely vinyl but I do not believe it to be true...not on a $30K car....not on a Mustang.

Ford has always specified on previous Mustangs leather seating surfaces front only but the 05's say front and rear.

I hate to tell you, but the information book is wrong.
I have ICAP, and the back seat is vinyl, just like the back seat was on my 2003 GT. :notnice:
If you want absolute proof, here is a simple fail proof test; Take a magnifying glass and look at the perforations in the "Leather seating surface" of your front seats, do you see how they are cut into the leather? Now do the same on the back seat, do you see how the perforations are molded into the plastic?
There is very little real leather used in a Mustang, only the parts of the front seats that actually come in contact with your body. Even the little side pieces under thigh support, in the middle of the lower front cushions, are vinyl! Cheap! :notnice:

I just did the "push test" and the magnifying glass and I can tell you positively that the perforated seating surfaces of the red leather upgrade are definitely leather front and rear.

My rear seat is absolutely positively, without question of a doubt, no cow even ever walked past the plant, pure man made petroleum based vinyl!
