Clearcoat is your polish. Occasional light waxing with a clearcoat safe wax.

Here are a couple of links about clearcoat:

Clearcoat is not your "polish".

Be careful of what products your buy. There is polish and then there is "polish". Typically polish is an abrasive used to remove scratches. You should only polish a car once a year since this removes a small amount of clearcoat (how else do you think the scratches disappear). Wax your car as much as you want. You can never hurt your car by waxing it.

Try not to use a harsh "polish" on the spoiler. The previous owner of my Stang did and it scratched it pretty well.

I agree, new cars don't need polish. Wash and wax.

If you do polish use a fine polish. Heavy and mild ones are only used for severe defects. I use Farecla #10 fine grade and extra fine grade. They work the best out of the dozens of products I have tried.
