Revive engine compartment

All,

I live in the northeast, and up until this winter, my car was a daily driver. I've done my best to keep up with it, and have a plan for getting here as close to "show quality" this spring when I can get a couple of days that stay above freezing and without precitptation

That said, I live on a bay, and have noticed that my engine bay is pretty cruddy. Not so much the normal grime, but more dullness and nastiness from the salt air/blowing sand.

Looking for advice on what I can do to revive the engine bay, especially those metal components that are looking alot older than they actually are.

Check out this thread. He gives a great write-up about cleaning the engine bay. It just takes time and patience. When I clean mine, I always end up with a few nicks and cuts.
