i dont think he's having a problem with the cleaner or conditioner- when it comes from the factory- they are supposed to take care of that... all it means is that is fresh leather- as long as the color didn't completely come off the seat- i wouldnt be too worried

Read the bottle. It says to "test in an inconspicuos area" because this can happen.

I used a red bottle of mothers. Worked like a charm. Really brings out the life in the red leather!

Thanks for all the replies. I was quite surprised as well. And I did initially test it on a small area in the back seat. I didn't have problems initially so I went about cleaning. It was a bit dark and I didn't really notice the stains until I was working on the front seats. I thought maybe it was just that the seats are new. There isn't any damage that I can see, but it definitely left me scratching my head. I may go get a conditioner only and go from there. I'll use my white shop rags again and see if anything happens. The last thing I want to do is ruin my new seats - but it will definitely be concerning if it happens with just the conditioner as well!

Thanks,
Dennis.

I've had this issue with the Zaino cleaner and conditioner.

Something to think about though: I sometimes clean my windows prior to cleaning my leather. If the window cleaner you're using creates a mist that falls on your seats then when you wipe the seats down, red may come off. I haven't confirmed if this is happening to me however. I'm also not sure if its the rags.

Concerning. Might try the ford cleaner.
