Power Buffer?
Does anyone have tips on using a power buffer, I'm tempted to get one, cuz manually waxing becomes a major PITA, but I've heard power buffers can be brutal to paint. How are they supposed to be used?
Get a random orbital buffer like the Porter Cable 7424...aslong as your using the right compounds it is very safe. These kind of buffers do not move nearly as fast as a rotary buffer that CAN and will damage your finish if used incorrectly. The Porter Cable machine makes wax application and removal a snap.
Just make sure you get the right pads for wax application and some nice micro fiber bonnets to go over a pad for removal.
Oh and for waaaay more info than I could ever provide check out the Meguiars forum.

Be very careful along the rocker panels where they meet the body, and if you have a GT500 type rear spoiler, be careful where it meets the rear deck in the back. I managed to bang the tar all along the base of the rear spoiler on the deck, and now have a row of dimples. In full disclosure, it was dark, and I was in a hurry, so it's my fault for not being more careful.

just be careful when working with one & keep the buffer moving--don't let it stay in one place & don't apply too much pressure to the buffer when using it...let the buffer do the work & just guide it along. Here's a link to a site that has a pretty good one and they have people there to answer questions and guides to show you the right way to use it.
