OK I had a silver Truck before my Stang but being that it was silver it hid things VERY well. Well now having a blue car it shows EVERYTHING. I am extremely **** about my cars appearance. I am the only 06 or 05 in my whole neighbor hood and at my college. So I feel I have an image to up hold . So yeah I am nuts but thats why I post here I can relate to people here. Anyhow being that I am so **** I wipe and clean her constantly. Well as my luck would have it my towels were starting to take a toll on the clear coat; and one day sure enough I saw tons of surface scratches on the body.

I tried regular wax, Meguires NXT generation wax (which says it removes fine scratches) nothing..... Tried GS27 scratch remover and Mothers.....still no luck. Well I seen everyone on here talking about Zaino and after reading about it and seeing all the **** people on the Zaino web page I figured this stuff is for me.

I ordered a Z-kit 1 ($93.00) Tried it out once scratches did not go away but I knew that you have to do multiple coats, so I waited till now to post about it.

After 3 coats of Zaino I can say that 70% of the scratches are GONE! Yes GONE! First I washed the car with a degreasing hand soap to remove the other types of wax. I then claybared the entire car and washed off the car again with the Zaino car wash. This was the best darn car wash fulid I have ever used it goes very far on only just a cap full in one bucket and I have never had a soap make a car feel the way my stang feel after I was done washing. I even tried it on my Parents car to see if it was just my cars new paint. My parents car had the same feeling like wet ice.

I first used the scratch removing Z2 I would recommend squirting a little Z7 detailing spray on the applicator before you try to spread it, make it go on easier. Anyway it took 3 1/2 hours to dry (it was a little cold) and I used a 100% made in the USA towel to take it off, the more I put on the better the scratches look. There are 1 million posts on how to use Zaino but I figured I would let all the stang owners out there with scratches know that this stuff works it's just the price of admisssion you have to get over. I would also like to add that I do not dry the car anymore I only lightly dab it with a Chamois and then apply the Zaino.

so wouldn't using 3 coats of NXT have yeilded the same results? And you do know the scratches are not gone right? All you did was hide them.

Tom, don't listen to John, he hates Zaino :P

I've had similar results with the zaino products as well.

Hey, I don't hate it. I have yet to even see the stuff. I will be ordering some in the spring to test it out. I just find it hard to believe that any product that does not remove clearcoat can actually remove scratches. All they are doing in that case is filling in the scratches. That is why they invented polishes and use buffers to remove, not hide, scratches.

Once I get my kit I'll see for myself just how the stuff works

Boys be nice. :P

I've never tried Zaino myself, but heard other have had good luck. I'd still question if the other waxes would have worked as well, since they didn't get the same "chance" to perform.

I was just teasing John.

I agree, the scratches are only getting filled, but in my mind that is much better than using an abrasive to take material off a paper-thin layer of clearcoat.

If one of us really had the time, we could buff half a car with NXT and half with zaino and compare the results. There was a thread on another webiste which compared the differnet polishes.

Maybe I'll do that in the spring. And stop teasing me, I get enough of that at home.

I'll volunteer my car for you all to wax and test it out on.

You'll need to drive down to N'Ville to do it, though.

Yeah I know they are just hidden, but what I am trying to say here is I have used all the aforementioned products. That means they were given an equal chance to work properly and do what they say they were going to in my findings the NXT wax did not "fill" or "hide" anything, and I really want to keep my car looking the way it did when I picked it up. The other scratches that will not go away I will be trying to remove with Zaino's scratch remover. If not I will have a body shop buff them out.

If the Z2 did the job at hiding the fine scratches, then that's fantastic. It means they were not "Too" bad to begin with. As long as you keep applying it they won't come back. My black 96 was the same and after a few coats it was perfect.

On my new car though I removed all swirls and scratches with my PC and "Poorboys". Now the car is perfect and the Zaino makes it that much better.

It's easier to do with aftermarket paint/clear (I have 5 coats of clear) because you can PC it a LOT.

Tom, I highly recommend some waffle weave towels. These things are great, wont scratch, and hold a heck of alot of water.
I shopped around a bit and found This place To be the best price for them.
