I've had my car for all of SEVEN days, and I get a rock to hit my car where I have NEVER had a rock hit my car. It came in almost straight back towards the car, but right down the middle of the passenger door and basically skipped along the door, removing paint down to the metal in three places. WHAT THE F***.

Can it happen when I am driving around in my beater 1994 Colt? NOOOO, lets deface the BRAND NEW STANG...

Sick

There weren't any big vehicles around. It was after 6 PM, so it was dark enough that I never saw it at all, just heard it

Ouch....that is really sad.
Talk about bad luck to TMS forum members.
My car is 7 days old today and it has three scratches on the passenger door and side.
Its a weird coincidence that someting like this would happen to your car almost at the same place and time as it did on mine.
Its a sad day
I have been feeling down all day beacuse of those scratches

Sorry to hear about that, Chris. Did you get touch up paint yet? Touch it up ASAP!

Dings and scratches are inevitable; it is evidence that your car has been driven and enjoyed. Unlike trailer queens and garage potatos. I know it's a small consolation, but I'm sure everyone knows how it feels and can sympathize with you.

I'm not sure if this helps but there is a color match guy here so I assume there are some everywhere. He comes to your work or home in a van and repairs the scratch no matter how deep perfectly. He even applies it in stages with a clear coat and everything. He filled in some down to the metal scratches on my car and it ran about 120 dollars. You could never even tell they are there. IMO touch up paint always looks touched up this is a seamless beautiful repair done at your home or work.

Not really, I was heading east on McDowell (from leaving Pioneer Ford to buy a spare key). Made it like 1-2 blocks east of the dealership when it happened.

The cost to get it repaired isn't going to exceed my 250 deductible. I get to buy this one all myself.

Doubt it. It was late in the day when it happened. With the way the rock hit the side of the door 3 times, looks more like a tire kicked it straight backwards, and it skipped along the door. I'd imagine that if it were thrown at the car from the side, it would have just hit the door once, and bounced back.

But like I said, it was getting pretty dark out when it happened, so I doubt it was thrown.
