clay actually takes the wax off, so you dont need to wash with dish soap. Might as well get a really good wash with a little more concentrated normal car wash.

NXT 2.0 is amazing. it smells fantastic! and it works fantastic. I havent waxed my car in like 10 months, and it's still good. after some clay and one coat, the surface is slick as ice!

I'm one of those dish soap wash, then dish soap and water with the clay bar, then wash again then wax.

I just had a thought if the Mrs. uses a lot of make up etc and it hardens on her face , would that also not work for a clay bar ? sorry ladies.

I've never used either, but hear good things. I always say, if you find something you like - stick to it. I can relate to trying new things just for the sake of trying them, and I always, always go back.

Just did both today.

NXT 2.0 since day one.

A couple of guys at the last show I was at asked how much I drive the car. "Every day" They were amazed at how good it looks.

using the NXT 2 paste and doing it twice is a lotta freaking work; the satisfaction of taking it out now for a drive and a couple pictures !

Names Ed seems we can't add that yet.
Ed... I'm not going to say this is better than that... but consider this claybar if you value the finish on your car. At least give it a shot. It even made the finish of my wife's Magnum slick. The claybar's at the bottom.

dang that's HUGE the ones in kits here are like taffy thin, then you almost have to park the car on a drop cloth to as I really swear loudly when I drop the bar and get dirt on it !

what makes one clay bar better than the other? I know some have a stiffer consistency than others.

I'm not a chemist, of course, and I can't answer your question. However, the Obsessive Detail clay bar is must more substantial and tacky in feel than Mother's or any other off-the-shelf brand. All I can say is it really cleaned up the finish on the wife's Magnum that's outside 24/7 like my car.

Used it on my GT for the first time. It pulled crap out of the paint I didn't even know I had there and she was beading up without any wax on her at all!

Great product!

Just beware, dish soap can dry out your paint and trim over time. Instead of using dish soap to remove wax I would suggest using the clay bar and then a polish such as Meguiars Deep Crystal System polish followed whichever wax you prefer.
