I am in a rather difficult situation here

I am wondering which is better.

-Meguiars NXT Gen Liquid (not spray) wax

--OR--

-Meguiars Original Gold Class Carnuba Wax

-Now, I know manner other people use Zaino and other things, but I want to go with Meguiars since I have heard such good testimony about them.

So, which one is better?

I heard a big CON to the NXT is that it turns plastic black instantly. Is this so with Gold Class?

Thanks in advance to all of your contribution.

Help please.

Would it be detrimental to use Gold Class with NXT Gen car wash liquid?

Niether
Zaino

NXT I hear is awsome....
but I've used Zaino for a while, and to me its the bomb...
(I hear it doesn't last as long as NXT) although NXT guys have had good results with it.

I could swear this was covered already. I have used both. I used the Gold for a long time and tried the NXT a couple of months ago when I was home. The NXT shines up nice but was a little harder to take off then the Gold. Maybe that's why it last longer then the Gold.

It was covered a little bit. But I am introducing the fear that NXT makes plastic turn white instantly which was what I heard. I wondered if Gold Class had the same problem.

I really don't know which to get.

I am honestly torn between the two.

here is my situation:

I am prepared to put some work into cleaning it. however, I don't want to layer and put 5 coats of wax on. One coat is fine, and I don't know which will be better for that.

They are both awesome products, you won't lose out either way, trust me on that. I'm "very" picky about what I use.

That is NXT.
I won a Top 20 Mustang award with that shine at Fun Ford Weekend in Bristol a couple of months ago.

The picture in my signature line is Gold Class

Wow they both look good.

In your experience, which one do you like more for doing only one layer (not multiple)? Also, with the plastic on the 2005 (valence) I am concerned about turning it white. Have you noticed this?

I don't really have anything to turn white so I don't know. I liked the Gold, it was easier to put on and take off. The NXT is suppose to last longer. The results were pretty equal looking to me.

Gold was easier to put on and take off? Well, sounds good. I think I will go with Gold Class. It seems to be a more tried and true method that really works well. So, I guess I will go with

NXT Gen car wash
Meguiars gold class
for touch up, quick detailer

Why not wax one side of the car with one and the other side with GOLD. See which one last the longest. After you run the test come back and tell us the straight dope. I love that Z wax process but willing to change if I find somethinh better.

I love the NXT. As long as you use a thin layer, it comes off as if not easier than the goldclass. Its a great product and the shine is great. it is even better if you use the NXT spray between waxings.

Mongoose suggested exactly what I was about to... Try it on the hood. Divide it straight down the middle with a piece of masking tape and wax one side with "wax #1" and the other side with "wax #2." After a few weeks you should start to notice a difference in shine and touch.

I don't know when I will get them up, but sometime soon.

It is Gold Class on the 66 red vert, and NXT on my red coupe.

I have used both the nxt as well as the gold class, and I have to say that the nxt leaves a nicer shine. Also I found it easier to use. It comes on and off without a problem. I definitely would reccomend it to anyone.
