Little Stickers on the '07 18" Bullitts

For those of you who have taken delivery of your '07 with the 18" Bullitt wheels, was there a sticker residue on the polished lip on each of your wheels. All 4 of mine still have the sticky stuff on it. Looks like the factory must have had some sort of stickers on them.

Question is, I know I can get the glue off with strong stuff, but I don't want it to strip the protective clear coat on the wheels. What do you use that worked?? Thanks.

I used Goo Gone, and IMMEDIATELY washed with soap and water.

WD40, GooGone, Krud Cutter, strong fingernails- they all work. Use whatever you already have laying around. The best stuff is Citrus Scent. It is marketed as an air freshener. You'll find it on the cleaning aisle at Home Depot. It is 100% orange oil. Home Depot stores use it to remove the price stickers from the steel racks when they're changed. It works.

A little bit of lighter fluid on a rag will also work...just follow up with some clear-coat safe wax.

Thanks all.

Thanks Infinity for the Citrus Scent idea. Seems like the least harsh of them all. I'm heading there tomorrow for electrical supplies, so I'll pick some up.

Steve, I did my own PDI and there was an orange sticker on each wheel. I just used 100% carnuba wax and the glue all came right off.

Sounds like I'm the only one who made the dealer prep guy take it off. He came out with a bottle marked "solvent"...I cleaned them up later...

Noticed that gunk on the optional '05 wheels, too, just never got around to purging the wheels of it...

Thanks for the suggestions. There's tape residue on my fanblades as well.

Yeah, I was surprised they didn't clean that during prep. One of the wheels still had the whole sticker intact. It said "pull here" on it- haha!

Goo Gone & a plastic scraper worked for me, the Spot was hard on my rims. I just scraped a little with the plastic then the Goo Gone took it right off. Look perfect now.

Yeah my 06 has that too. I haven't gotten to taking it off though a bunch of it is going away as it is. Now that you reminded me I'll probably do it on my day off Friday.

I used 91% isopropyl alcohol. The sticker glue came right off and it did not damage the rim in any way that I could see. I washed them up afterward, and applied some Z6.
