Absolute crap IMO. I tried it on my roomates 350z today because he bought it to see how it worked, and ended up using my Clay Magic clay in the end.

Funny how you tried it on your roomate's car first! Glad it wasn't a stang!

I tried Ice Liquid Clay Bar last week... was disappointed and went back to traditional clay (Mothers) and it removed surface contaminants like it should. In fact, at Wal-Mart, Mothers clay was about the same price.

By the way, Meguiar's has had clay for a long time, but they did re-package it recently.

I havent seen clay magic on the shelves in a long time, the Meguiars one isnt the same one, its packaged differently (with my car on the box) and comes with some cool stuff but the clay bar itself has been improved and you get two small ones which is perfect if you combine the two. They also make a couple different grades of clay bar in their professional line

Oh, that's your '05 on the box of the Smooth Surface kit... cool! I think I remember you had some photos of the "shoot" a while back. And yeah, the small 50 gm bars seem a tad small so I know what you mean there... but I guess the idea is you're supposed to use one per car.

I do have some of the Meg's pro "aggressive" clay for those tough jobs, and I really do like the larger size of those as you can get it to stick in-betwen your fingers and it'll never let loose. But at about 25 bucks, that thing mostly sits in its jar.

I did see Clay Magic at AutoZone recently, by the way... it's the only place I ever remember seeing it... 100 gm bar.... interestingly, they recommend you use it "every time you wash or wax."

AutoZone huh? Too bad I no longer need Clay Magic, they use to carry it at Pep Boys, Clay Magic actually makes most of the clay bars for the industry, companies like Mothers tell them what they are looking for and they make it and Mothers packages and markets it. This is why the new clay kit from Meguiars is improved, I was told by an insider that they renegotiated or whatever and got a contract for a better product. But every time you wash or wax??? thats just so you use it faster and need a new one...lol

Meguiar's consumer clay up until about 2004 was junk... they were using some wierd formula or something. Now I think they're on-par with Mothers and Clay Magic.
