How often do you clean & wax your car ?
#4
I am with Jason, just got my GTout last night and if the weather hits KC as they are calling for it is parked. I wash mine about once a week, wipe down all the areas, blow out the standing and puddles of water and dress the rubber.

It all depends on how much I drive the car. For my Subie, since it's a daily driver and sees all kinds of weather, I usually wash it every other week in the summer and once a week in the winter to keep the grime off. I usually end up waxing it 4-6 times a year.
Now, when I had my Mustang, I was on the same time frame as Jason. It got washed about once a month and wax about 2-3 times a year. But the Mustang was only driven on sunny weekends and only racked up about 750-1000 miles per year so it didn't need it as much.

The problem is your neighbours probably don't have mustangs. The problem as I see it there are mustang owners and then there are car owners. I also have a Tucson and a Chev Blazer, neither one of them get the attention the mustang gets.

I try to wash mine once a week in the summer. For waxing, I try to do it once a month, and I've only ever clay barred it once. Last year I drove through the winter, and I took it through the car wash every 1-2 weeks. This year, she's staying in the garage.

I'd say every 4-6 months (wash, 2 coats of wax, detail interior, and minor detailing of engine bay takes me about 5+ hours). It's garaged and I mostly take mass transit to work but I always use a California Duster after a drive so my car never looks dirty. Even after a rain when the car drys, the duster makes the car look close to washed. After about 4 - 6 months though it just starts to looks a little dull and needs a new wash.
On top of that I leather treat the drivers seat and steering wheel, dust the rims, shine the tires, and vacuum and every two or three weeks depending on how much it's been driven.

As soon as it gets dirty
My '07 GT/CS is my daily driver in Connecticut and I have only had her 2 weeks and have washed it 5 times and will do it again this afternoon! My '65 never sees any type of bad weather so it gets washed when it gets dusty after driving it, in the summer, as it has a new fresh paint job. luv those Mustangs!!!!

I typically wash the car once a month and wax twice a year. My car is a daily driver and back when I parked outside for work I'd wax more often. Nowadays the car sits in a garage much of the day so its not exposed to quite as much of the evil Arid-zona sun!!
