I just use 2 clean bath towels. Seems to work fine and I haven't noticed any scratches.

I bought my Absorber in Vegas in 1993 and I still have it. It's still in wonderful shape and dries as good as it did as when it was new. All you have to do is remember to keep it moist when you put it back into it's case.
My Absorber is 12 years old folks, it's the most awsome thing you can buy to dry your car. It's soft and leaves no kind of scratches.
You can get these at any Wal-Mart, kick A** product.

I use the absorber since it picks up water better then a chamois and if there is any remaining water I use a soft towel. The Absorber picks up more water and stinks less then some chamois's.

Mr. Clean Autodry for me.
The way I see it, I can't get swirl marks from drying if I never touch my car. And although it may not be the cheapest option possible, but works beautifully and saves me some effort.

You can't have the absorber dry when you put it in the case? Cant you just get it damp prior to use?

I park on a ramp, so a lot of the water runs off, then I use an absorber. Works great. Then I use Quick Detailer from McGuires for the spots that I could not get to fast enough. B)

That quick detailer stuff is really good, I have used it.
So far, from the responses to this thread, I have had success using:
-California Water Blade-First Step
-The Absorber-Second Step
On the note about the absorber, how do you all use it? I get it wet then I sqeeze out as much as I can. Then I slide it along the surface, but it seems when it gets slightly damp it leaves a slight trail.
Any help/tips on using the Absorber????

Well I use my california water blade first to get off the majority of the water (hood, roof, trunk sides of car) and then come behind it with the absorber. basically the key is to keep the absorber wrigned out while drying the car. Also I try to keep it as flat and spread out as much as possible, making the surface area it covers much greater. I never have to many problems. I have found that an electric leaf blower works awesome to remove most of the water and get those hard to reach places

I don't use anything, I just take car for a ride (freeway or where speed limit is over 50 mph), drive it for 10-15 min and that's it.

haha. Well the water beads on my car since putting on a coat of Meguiars NXT Wax. I found my new favorite drying tool though. It can be found under the thread in this forum entitled something like "Impressions of GG Chamois and towel"
