Help removing cat pee odor
Had my cat in a soft carrier bag for a trip to the vet. He pee'd in the carrier and it soaked through onto the cloth rear seat of my '14 Fusion.
It happened last week and I sprayed PineSol liberally for a couple of days and left the windows open to air out. The smell was masked for a while but now it's back, and it's unpleasant to say the least.
Any tips or chemicals I should be using?
At least it wasn't my Mustang, but it's still gotta go.
Thanks.

Can you remove the seat bottom like in a mustang and tackle it outside the car?
After that put the cat back in the carrier and throw it in a lake.

How about shampooing the seat? or 'Bomb'-ing the car? You know, one of those odor-gone cans you set off windows closed turn on the vents till the can is done? Some local detail supply shops carry these. Yelp it.

Had that happen to a Isuzu rodeo. Every time it got hot out the interior stunk bad. Sold it after trying months and months. Thought it was gone when it was cooler out until it got hot out. Hope you have better luck. Once it gets into the foam ehhh yuck.

Agreed. It is indeed near impossible to get it out of foam. Good thing it's a lease. Mask the heck out of it and trade it in.

when urine dries it crystalizes so if it's ever damp or humid the crystals absorb & open to release all that yum, so it's acid then turns alkaline so you need to nut raise it before you can flush it our.

no idea what those even are but if you take a piece of litmus paper to check the pH you can get it Nuttal , I'd remove the seat and if the cover is anything like a mustang & you
can roll off then I'd dump a bottle of vinegar over the foam let it sit a good while then hose it out then stick In the sun or front of a good air mover

Take the seat out. Strip the seat cover off. It should be pretty easy to remove the cover. The cover should clean easy. Spray the foam down and hose it off real good. Should dry just hanging after a few days. That foam is gonna be the hardest thing to get clean. Soak and squeeze it out a few times.
