Hardwater spots
Hardwater spots
Have experienced hard water spots on the glass and paint on my cars. This comes when the automatic sprinklers come on at night and overspray hits the car. Automatic car washes (touch types) do not remove the spotting. Will need to hand wash but what would be the best product to cut the spotting?
Agreed! ^
Contrary to popular belief, nightly watering of your mustang will not cause it to grow a supercharger. I tried once.
As far as removing the spots are concerned, it really depends on how bad they are, and where they are. On widows, I find vinegar and a razor blade to be a quick and easy solution, but obviously I wouldn't touch my paint with a razor and I don't recommend putting vinegar on your paint because of it's acidity.
For spots on paint I'd start with a clay bar like others have recommended and hopefully that takes care of it. Water spots can be a real pain to get rid of sometimes though. I've never seen a car wash soap that can remove bad water spots.

Similar problem here.
You could adjust the sprinkler heads to where trey don't hit the car.
Or you could add a second filter (one for inside and then adding the second for outside water) and you sprinklers will then become soft water and you hose taps will be soft water too making it that much easier to clean the car if you wash it by your own.

For glass vinegar is enough most the time. With a lil scrubbing ofcourse. As for paint, clay bar with a quality detailer spray is the easiest. Or if you any iron remover products (iron-x) this will take care of water spots and just about any other imperfection as if it were never there
When I first got mine and came home late, I hosed the bugs off before going to bed (drive from town is along a lake). Thought I was doing good. The next day, water spots from Hades! I'm on a well and never thought about the bit of lime in it. Had to take it to the Dealer where they did an "acid wash" to remove them and then re-applied protectant wax.
So now when I wash, I keep each panel wet and then the race is on to dry before water spots set up.
