Angry

Ok so I go for a final wipe down to get the dust off my car before I leave to go over to my friends house and I notice that inside my gas door is really dusty. I pulled open the door and go inside to get a towel. When I come back out I walked past my gas door and barely brushed against it, well it obviously was hard enough to push it back far enough to leave a car door ding size dent in the side of my car. Also, it sprung the gas door where it doesn't shut and open perfectly anymore. You have no idea how pissed off I was and still am! I guess I'm going to take it somewhere tomorrow to see how much it will cost to get it fixed. I'm not about to drive a $30000 car with 1500 miles on it with a big ding in the side of it. Anyone have any ideas what will have to be done to fix it? What a horrible start to the week!! :bang: I just had my windows tinted yesterday too and couldn't wait for my coworkers to see how good it made the car look, but now I'm embarrassed for them to even look at my car tomorrow.

I think you might have to sell it and buy a new one, you could sell for the price of a new one easy, but then you'll have to wait to get your new one

Ain't that the truth! I just gave my car it's first owie not 15 minutes ago...

I was taking some nice hi-res pics of the car in the yard to use as a wallpaper on my computer and when I was maneuvering it back into the carport, I scraped the passenger side of the front bumper cover on the concrete foundation! It's a good 2"x1" gouge that's actually quite deep... I touched it up so it looks so-so but I know it's there so it may as well be a massive dent! I just want to cry.... It's sad... I try so hard to keep it nice and I've driven in and out of that carport a million times without incident... I suck.

I do sympathize with you. Well, look at it this way. Te wory about maintaining perfection at all times is now behind you.

At least it is YOUR history with her, not some half-blind pinhead weaving uncertainly through a parking lost with a smoking, clapped-out Volaré.

When someone like that smacks their door into yours as they wander into the supermarket for a can of pressure-propelled cheese product, that'll REALLY make your forehead veins stand out!

Ben, I'm just not seeing the dent... where's it at? Before or after the fuel door? Is it in the door?

BTW... what wax are you using? Great reflections!

I know how you all feel... I had a dump truck throw a rock into my front bumper leaving a gash about the size of a half dollar...I tried to fix it myself but it turned out a disaster... Sooo, I'm getting it repainted and should get it back from the shop tomorrow...

The dent is just before the fuel door by about a 1/4 inch.

I'm using a polish my uncle uses on his orange 69' Boss 302 that he shows constantly, it's called Race Glaze. It does an amazing job on black too! Between wash and wax, I use the new Meguiars NXT quick detailer...and thats pretty much every day.

You said you hardly touched it? Do the new Mustangs dent that easily? Sorry for your accident I am going to ask around if no one else gives you an answer maybe I can come up with something.

I went to my local Ford dealer on my lunch break today to see what they had to say about the ding. The guy came out with his note pad for an estimate and he said he can do paintless dent repair for about $50. I was so excited because he seemed to think it would be no trouble to repair. I'm going to drop it off tomorrow and leave it with him while I'm at work and she should be just like new tomorrow afternoon.

I dropped my car off this morning at the body shop. It's my cars first time left alone. I can't describe the feeling really, but it's what I can imagine parents feel like when their child is in the hospital. I know it's pathetic really, but I love this car. I'll try and post pics this afternoon of what the fix looks like.

It's done!!! It looks great, you can't even tell that the dent was ever there at all. I am completely satisfied with the rapair and I even got a free wash job out of them....all for $54! I would take a pic but it started raining as I pulled into my neighborhood and the Mustang has water all over it. Believe me they didn't drive it anywhere except into the shop...I wrote down my mileage and it only changed by .2.

Oh and to make today even better, I got a BIG raise at work!!!!!

$54.00 is a great price to repair a dent such as that. Dent Wizard up here in Canada wants a minimum of $150.00 to repair any dent smaller than golf ball size.
