Interesting.
I've been using this because it takes the bugs off easily (after sitting a bit) with only a light wipe of the microfiber (I use an older one set aside strictly for bug duty). Because I'm afraid to scrub.

Yikes! I DON'T recommend this at all.
If you're looking for getting bugs off, look into Stoner Tarminator. It's a great product that will remove just about anything and requires very little effort on your part to remove.
I caution using any abrasive substance on the paint other than for polishing purposes because of the ability of inducing swirls. Something to remember: any time you're touching your paint other than polishing, you're degrading the surface.

Not being rude...but dot suggest against something that you have never tried. Until you have tried it you have no idea what it will do. I know it works, I know it does not hurt anything. Ofcourse it will be abrasive when it's dry! You think I would use something for over a year if it had Ill effects upon the finish? No I wouldn't, nor would I suggest this to others if it dud hurt the finish.

So today I tried this on my company car first (Chevy Impala) which was loaded with lovebugs here in lovely central Florida. I wet the car first, then wet the dryer sheet..... WORKED LIKE A CHARM.... and left no swirl marks. I then decided to be brave and tried this on my Mustang.... WORKED LIKE A CHARM... and no swirl marks!!

So you've tried every brand of dryer sheets available and all of them work 100% and you guarantee absolutely none of them are abrasive to the paint? I believe the ones you used worked for you, and maybe you could recommend the brand you've tried as working 100% and being 100% safe, but how can you say every brand will work and be safe if you haven't tried them all?

I have never use anything but bounty, I get them at the dollar store because why pay more $ if I'm using them to take of bugs? I'm not saying they can't hurt the paint, what I'm saying is if you use common sense and don't use them dry or rubb with all your might you won't hurt your paint and it works amazingly.

I would also like to clarify that never once said i have tried them all or that none of them will hurt the finish, I simply said in general terms that dryer sheets work.

Andrew.... some people just have to have something to *****, moan or complain about. Or even to try and twist what you said.... Ignore those people, i know I will

As a detailer, I am speaking out in caution. Dryer sheets aren't the most plush thing, hence my concern in earlier posts. I'd venture an educated guess that a sheet is more coarse than a decent microfiber towel. I can only hope that no one tries this and mars the paint trying to get bugs and tar off. No *****ing, moaning, or complaining...just stating the facts.
