So I'm going to my friends today to show him my new ride and i park where I always park and open the door without thinking. BAD IDEA!!, the door is much longer then my old car and wham! it hits his mailbox. Now I got a slight nick in my paint. Whats the best method for fixing this? Wax and then touch up paint??

hmm...

if the paint is chipped it needs to be touched up, if there is a small dent you can get one of those paintless dent removal places to get it. If it is both chipped & dented, your off to see mr. bodyman.

Did you put a sticky on the dented mail box and compensate for repairs ?

its more of just a scratch, wouldn't call it a dent, about a half inch long. Just annoyes me that its there already, but i guess it could have been much worse.

now, if the scratch is through the clearcoat, you are stuck with some kind of touch up paint.

If the scratch is only in the clear, get it wetsanded and buffed.

Talk to a bodyman, if it is just wetsanding, won't set you back much at all, but if the scratch has to be repaired, it will add up.
