Cleaning the GT500 rear diffuser and other textured surfaces
Does anyone have any tips on washing and waxing/protecting the rear diffuser on the GT500 bumper and other textured surfaces? Can I just use Zaino Z-2 or AIO for protection, and WD40 for cleaning?
Sorry for the delay.
Your best bet is a plastic-protection type of product. This will provide additional UV ray protection while evening out the finish. Products like 303 Aerospace Protectant, 1Z Vinyl and Rubber, Meguiar's #40, etc all work well.
Another key is application. Try out a non-linting spare cotton towel, or even better: a foam paint applicator brush (like you can get at Home Depot) so you can get a nice even application without getting product all over your paint.
Depending on use and how often the vehicle is in the sun, you may need to reapply (always thin coats!) every 3-6 months, or maybe just once a year.
