Wow, looking good. I usually hand clean mine. Did you spray it down and if so....any problems after?

My technique is just let the engine be warm (not normal running temp). I spray the entire engine down really well with simple green not letting any one part dry (spray more if it starts to dry). Once you do that and scrub any extremely dirty spots down, then shower it with the garden hose well. I then let the engine run for about 5min so that it will burn off any excess water while I wipe up the plastic parts.

Thanks for the tip. It's not bad doing it by hand but there are some hard to reach places.

What do you scrub with? Rags? Brush?

i had a friend of mine suggest a way to clean the engine compartment. he said go to one of the "do-it-yourself" car washes and use the multi-function sprayer they have to spray down the engine with the degreaser that is offered. then spray off using the water.

has anyone tried this before?

I used the engine degreaser at the car wash but I didn't notice any thing much.

another friend also recommended using something like simple green, then using the "steam" at the carwash to remove it. wonder how that would work?
