Ok, i live on dirt roads back in the hills of Kentucky and my engine bay is very dusty and i would like to rinse it off and make her look good. But me knowing little information bout cars i thought i would ask the best way to do so to get all dust out of the engine bay.
Thanks
Coleman

Take your car to your local hand wash with pressure washers. Have the car running and blast away. If you're a little nervous about getting certain electrical devices wet, bring along some Seran Wrap. I used to be an auto detailer. Pressure washing your engine is totally safe. With the engine running it will dry up pretty quick.

Also, bring some tire shine and a rag. Spray your intake, rad cover, hoses, and whatever else you want to look shiney. Then wipe them down. Your engine will look like it just came off the factory floor.

John, maybe an idea to tack one of the existing underhood threads, as this appears to be a regularly recurring topic?

What about the fire pad, under the hood? How would you clean that? I also live on a dirt road, and it is speckled with mud splashes. I have tried to use a damp rag, but it roughed up the material making it worse and ugly. Any ideas???
