Mustang enthusiasts always seem to have the cleanest cars. I dont even have my Mustang yet, and I drive 500 miles or so every week, and I ALWAYS have a much cleaner car than anyone I know. Im looking forward to my Christmas vacation so I can spend about 6 hours one day cleaning my car.

This is the first I've heard of the California duster. I just looked it up on Amazon and there are several different styles. Is one style duster more preferable to use on a car over the other? Forgive my newbie question....I'm still learning

I'm 99% sure they're all the same excat thing but they just come in different sizes and have different handles. The standard one has a plastic handle. I have one with a really nice wood handle.

I've got one I use on my two Mustangs, got it back in 2004 and it still works great. One of the best 9 dollar purchases I've made!

Use the Dustbuster all the time!!! (Before and after work...as long as there isn't a lot of dirt)... I also use Eagle 1's Wipe and Shine, on a daily basis (like it much better than Meguiar's Quik Detailer)...it cleans the surface and leaves it slick.

speaking of meguiars products. holy crap. I used the leather conditioner pads and I honestly thought it looked like a glazed donut inside my car afterwards. I didnt like how glossy it made everything look.

While you're in the buying mode pick up the California Duster Mitt.
Same thing, except hand-size and slips on like a... uhhhh... mitt.
Very convenient for interiors.

After yo use those and let them sit for a few minutes wipe them down with a Microfiber afterwards and it takes that shine off.

I love my duster. Having a black Stang, it's almost indispensible!

There are some who believe that using it will scratch the car, but I think the trick is to use it when the car has a light layer of dust, and no more.

If you wait too long, I can see the paint being scratched by dragging it across.

Yes it is ONLY to be used with a light coat of dust. Hence the name Duster. If you have dirt that is stuck on it is time to wash the car.

also, don't press down while using it.Just let the ends of the yarn lightly glide across car. it's a little tricky doing the sides though. Practice makes perfect

And just like any other thing(like microfibers and quick detailer), try to keep it front-to-back on the horizontal surfaces and up and down on the vertical as much as possible to keep spiderwebbing to a minimum over the years. If they get soaking wet they make a hell of a mess though.
