Unhappy

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on the product (by 3M I think) that protects your hood and bumper from rocks and debris from the road? This isn't a bug shield or bra, but a clear plastic "tape" strip (like scotch tape or something) that you place on the front part of your hood (covers about 6in up on the hood) and on the bumper. I guess it's virtually invisible and has a sticky side that achieves to the car.

Any info is greatly appreciated!

I would have it professionally installed by a detail shop. It's a great product, but very tricky to work with.

This was mentioned inside another thread. But I remembered the address.

www.invinca-shield.com

I have never used it and do not know anything about the quality of this product.

Cool

I am not sure of your location but if you were to contact "Car Pretty" at Edmonton, Alberta, they would probably be able to put you in touch with the nearest 3M dealer. I have already spoken to Car Pretty about having the product applied to my 2005 Mustang. The phone number in Edmonton, Alberta is 1-780-429-2277 or toll free at 1-800-617-3479, fax is 1-780-429-2276.

The product you are looking for is called 3M Paint Protection Film, it eliminates the need for a bra.

You're a Rangers fan, and invisa-shield is the ugliest thing youve ever seen? You must not watch too many games.

Starshield, an excellent installer.
3m corporate website

EXCELLENT product. I have it on an 03 300m and an 04 Mach 1. You can barely tell it's there, and I can deal with a couple barely visible lines instead of hundreds of chips. My 300m has 40,000 miles and still looks great... had a large rock damage the film, so 3m replaced it under warranty... no damage to the paint whatsoever. It's well worth the money to protect your investment. You only get that factory finish once.

Definitely have an experienced installer do the work. The film is applied like window tint, so you can make a real mess if you don't know what you're doing. Not to mention installation was like 50 bucks, so it was worth it not to deal with any hassles.

I know it is NEARLY invisible, but can you show some pics of what it looks like.

The only digicam I have is on the cell phone, which won't show up the protector film. I will try to borrow a high-res camera from work today, and maybe I can post some pics later tonight or tomorrow.
