Are Brushless car washes okay?

I know not to go through car washes bc they cause small micro scratches but how about brushless car washes are there any negatives to them?

Define "brushless"....

Some car washes claim to be "all cloth".... yet the cloth sure as hell looks like a brush when it is spinning down the length of your car.

True "brushless" car washes use soap and water sprayed under high pressure.. to me, that is pounding the dirt and contaminants into your paint work.

Brushless means brushless, in other words nothing touches the car but soap and water. Soap and pressure wash should be just fine. If it "pounds the dirt" into the paint, it would be difficult to explain how it can clean a house or plastic furnature or anything else and make it clean. I've done it for years, and the only problem i've seen is it does not remove the film of dirt, only the loose stuff. If your car is nicely waxed, it comes out very clean.

"Touchless" car washes are a better alternative than automated ones but still have their drawbacks - recycled water, high pH soap (that can strip your sealant) and non user regulated pressure are a few.

While I doubt a touchless wash is any worse than using a pressure washer in your wash, touchless car washes use harsh chemicals to clean your car's surface without making physical contact. They'll strip your wax without issue in a single use. You'll have a cleaner ride, but she won't be as slick or as easy to wash in the next round either.

Of course Opti-coat+touchless car washes can be a decent way to go as it's the only product I know of that won't get washed away with any shampoo/soap.

Thers a huge difference between cleaning siding and plastic furniture and a car's paintwork.

i was just gonna say that. i would never recommend going to a car wash for many reasons.

strips wax
scratches paint (non brushless)
streaks
water spots
recycled water
blower doesnt dry car
doesnt get all of the dirt off
doesnt clean in the hard to get spots

Wink Are Brushless car washes okay?

Don't use Touchless wash if it is a vert. The power drying system is too strong and could damage roof.

Plus those cheap drying towels a lot of places use can cause scratches.

No issues with no-touch and my vert, but the rinse is recycled and I have to wax more often, its a good alternative sometimes though.
