Mine is still on order, but I am curious if anyone has noticed any issues with brake dust?

I'm not sure how you would define "issues" with brake dust. The 2005 Mustang will give you some brake dust, as do all cars. But I find this one to be fairly light---the front wheels get slightly dustier than the rear, but even the front are not too bad. Not as bad as our 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, my son's 2000 F-150, or the previous 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee or 1994 Camry.

I've been pleasantly surprised with this aspect of the 2005 Mustang GT.

Were you looking to paint your calipers and wondering if they will get dirty fast?

I have about 1200 miles on my car. No noticable "problems" w/ brake dust and if it were even that bad, I'd just go out and buy a brake dust shield - end of problem.

My Bonneville has a bad problem with brake dust - I can't stand dirty wheels, especially when you clean the car and the wheels are filthy in only a few days. I need to switch to ceramic pads at the next pad change.

I wonder if the pads on the new Mustangs are ceramic?

The way the Bullit wheels are designed, you can really see the caliper - that is why I asked about brake dust issues...

AHHHHH!!! Do NOT change to ceramic pads. I have them on my Grand Am GT!! They shed brake dust I think worse that stock pads. Trust me you will not be happy if concerned about brake dust. Just my experience.

It seems to be a little worse on the '05 compared to my '03.

Here's a tip that's worked for me. Before I waxed the wheel's I did notice a fair amount of brake dust buildup on the front. Once I waxed them, the dust doesn't stick to the wheels. I have the Bullits which are painted and clearcoated, if you have the upgrade rims you may want to use something different, or not

Coming from VW's, the brake dust is much less on the 'Stang. On my GLi (with $500 a piece BBS wheels) the brake dust is really bad. I hate the way dirty wheels look, and have been pleasantly surprised with how little dust there is. I just wash them with regular car wash soap, not like on the other car where I use P21S gel cleaner to get that nasty stuff off my glorious wheels.

As of this evening, I have 1,056 miles on my GT Deluxe with the Bullitt wheels.

And like Tony/SixtySix, I also polish or wax my wheels because I find that the dust doesn't cling to them as much afterward. Like most of you, I detest dirty wheels.

Thanks mike ,I think what I will do is remove the hammered on weights on the rim and put some "Sticky semi weights" on in the top of the middle of the rim before I wax it.

I don't want to bash you Bonneville guy but my friend has one of those and his wheels ALWAYS look terrible. He has a Supercharced one and his mom has a standard one. I was told Bonneville's have really bad break problems including excessive break dust, heard this from a Pontiac technician. I can agree that the Mustang's do shed but nothing terrible. The front are worse then the rear but I can usually go a week before I notice any serious buildup. Then again I am extremely **** with this car so what may be alot to me might be nothing to you.

There are also a lot of spray on products that coat the wheel and help prevent brake dust from sticking to them. I use glaze on mine only because it lasts longer than wax.
