A BLACK cat
By the way I think I know what happened. I think the cat saw the pony emblem in the front grill, got jealous and wanted to replace it by being the new emblem.
LOL Just kidding. Enough of my silly humor now.

A three-year-old boy went with his dad to see a new litter of kittens. On returning home, he breathlessly informed his mother, "There were two boy kittens and two girl kittens." "How did you know that?" his mother asked. "Daddy picked them up and looked underneath," he replied. "I think it's printed on the bottom."
Light enough?

Trust me, I have a sense of humor. The thing about the pony emblem, although not really funny, was a bit humorous. But, the comments about the cat being DEAD, and this after saying you aren't a cat person... sorry if I fail to see the humor in that.

Most indoor cats (indoor meaning that they've grown up indoors and lived their whole lives there) would not survive a week outside. I'm not even talking about ones who have been de-clawed and wouldn't be able to climb a tree or fence if a dog was after them. But, besides not being able to hunt for food and find water, they would get into some sort of trouble... or like our black friend who is the topic of this post, would get hit by a car. An indoor cat getting out is not a good thing. I'm guessing though that the black cat that got hit was an outdoor cat, like most cats are. And even if it was, and didn't have a collar, I'm sure he/she belonged to someone, or at least someone was feeding it and cared about it. Let's say nobody even knew that cat was alive until you hit it, it's still a life and has feelings like you and me. My wife is a Vet, and has been taking care/rescuing animals for 10 years. We have 6 cats and 6 dogs (not including the 5 puppies we are taking care of and finding homes for). If I ever hit a cat or a dog, I would stop no matter what. If anything, just to make sure that it wasn't suffering. That cat could have layed there for hours bleeding to death. Maybe it could have even been brought to a Vet (or if it was late- an emergency clinic) and been saved. Or at least put to sleep in a humane way and taken out of it's misery.
Sorry to hear about your car... but while insurance pays for your car to be fixed and you will get it back good as new, the cat is rotting away in a ditch.
And on another note, what's up with the member "kirby" posting 10 times in a row? And then nobody saying a thing about it? I've never ignored a user on TMS before, but he is the first on my ignore list. That's just stupid.

I guess I will edit this one so i don't upset anyone with too many posts.
I called the insurance place, and the girl laughed at me... she said sorry I know it's not funny but a cat did all that damage! You know I am going to tell everyone when we hang up and they are all going to laugh too
She said once a guy called in with a F350. He hit a quail and and broke a bunch of pieces on the truck!
Built Ford tough!
The worst damage that has ever been done to my dad's 1978 Pontiac Bonneville (the thing is a freakin' steel tank) was done to it by a dove he hit. It damaged the car more than when he rear-ended a Honda.

Wow...I didn't know pony's ate cats.

That stinks. Sorry about your car. Out in the country, where I live, there are a lot of stray cats and I see dead ones on the side of the road all the time, but it always makes me wonder if that cat was someones poor pet. I myself don't hate cats, don't love them either but I hope it did not lay there in pain for a long time before dying.

I was driving to my softball game and a black cat sprinted out from some tall grass and met the front of my car.
I looked in the review mirror and saw the cat flying through the air into the ditch and strips of black plastic flying through the air. Then i hear something rubbing the tire! I pull over at the nearest place get out of my car and see the front lower grill not there and big hiney crack and dent in the front bumper and my radiator is empty in less that 5 minutes! It wasn't a cougar... it was a normal sized cat. :bang:
Sad day in Mustang land.

I am interested to see pics of your car. Its hard to beleive that a cat could do any damage as small as it is.
