Big thanks!!

Took my car to Marc Harris of Autolavish to get it detailed and learn some tips from the pro's. I can't tell you how happy I did this even though the wife said I was crazy since its a brand new car. After seeing it she's not saying that anymore haha, the car looks photoshopped now its unreal.

Always great to work for enthusiasts. This car was quite new (only purchased a few weeks prior to the work being done), and only my third 2013 Shelby GT500. Black with no stripes looks truly sinister, and the owner was concerned with not only having it look its best, but how to keep it that way.

In addition to A LOT of talking about proper cleaning, treatment, and maintenance, here's a list of what was done:

-Wheel faces, spokes, the inner barrel, and the calipers were cleaned with Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner and various brushes.
-Tires cleaned with Optimum Power Clean and scrubbed with a TUF Shine tire brush
-bugs / lowers / side mirrors pre-treated with Optimum Power Clean
-Foamed with Chemical Guy's Citrus Wash and allowed to dwell
-Rinsed
-Foamed again and washed
-Clayed
-Rinsed
-Blown dry
-Test section done for polishing
-Two polishing steps on high touch / high visibility areas (Meguiar's 205 on white followed by 3M Ultrafine Machine Polish on black) like the hood, trunk, doors/fenders above the main styling line
-One polishing step (3M Ultrafine on black) on everything else
-Leather protected with Leather Master Protection Cream
-Suede protected with Leather Master Suede Protectant
-1Z Cockpit Premium used on hard interior surfaces
-Certain pockets of scratches were polished more aggressively with Meguiar's 101 (European only product)
-Rewashed
-Blown dry / towel dab-dried
-Door jambs, water channels protected with FK #425
-Paint protected with Blackfire Wet Diamond sealant
-Wheels protected with ArmorAll Tire Protectant
-Tires dressed with Optimum Tire Shine

Overall the car turned out great! We were able to get rid of some of the paint problems and leave the finish about 95-98% corrected while increasing the clarity. In the end, the black was deeper and richer, more reflective, and super slick.

A couple days later there was a nice meet and spirited drive he came to (next to him is another client's E500):

My favorite color and combo for the new GT500. Looks breathtaking after Marc worked on it. His tips are definitely useful, I can't say enough for all of his help since meeting him during another TMS member's detail.
