More Carnuba questions
always used Meguires car cleaner wax with good results. Then I tried their gold class carnuba wax. Not only did I find it hard to use, but the results came out uneven. I wax by hand.
what did I do wrong ? what am I missing. I followed directions. any help appreciated.

Ive used Megs Gold Class for a while now and ive never had issues. Might be the applicator? Or prep work?

Likely applied way to thick for starters. You need to apply wax as thin as humanly possible. The thicker it is applied, the less even it will dry, less will set correctly, and you'll have less protection, less slickness, and less clarity in the end result.

Marc... I agree with this, however, as you well know, 99% of the population forgets to have proper prep work. I can almost guarantee that his surface is unclayed. When applying wax to sandpaper, it won't matter the brand or type of wax, or application.... It will be a bear to apply and remove.

I concur... in addition, weather is a big factor. I find that when there is high humidity, it takes much longer for waxes and sealants to set up properly, causing a "streaking" effect to the paint, especially to a dark colored car if you try wiping it off too early.

Fast Wax (FW1)?
Hey just wanted to get your guys opinion on this FW1 stuff. Theres always people selling it on base and I usually never pay them any mind and never let them spray in on my Stang (b/c they always try) but I was wondering if anyone else had any experience with this product? Don't use quick detailers just wondering about this since I see there always saying how good it is.

unless you have a lot of time and are willing to invest in the tools and accessories required, you're better off letting a professional detailer take care of the paint correction every year.

A lot of misconception in the post above, that detailing is only for "professionals" and that "it takes too much time". Reading comprehension, and a desire to learn and a sincere effort in caring for a vehicle is all one needs to keep it looking 90% or better than other cars on the road.
Once it's swirl-free, just keep it swirl-free.... that's my favorite saying
